Service station robbed at knifepoint

Police are hunting an armed masked robber who held up a Mt Maunganui service station this morning.

Police said that the man waved a knife at a male attendant demanding money.

After helping himself to around $100 from the till he fled on foot. The attendant was unharmed.

Police appealed to motorists or pedestrians seeing any suspicious activity near the Shell Station in Maunganui Road around 7am to come forward.
