KEY POINTS:
A Blenheim service station attendant was bashed in a robbery this morning, police said.
The woman was taken by surprise and received a blow to the head in the robbery of the Caltex service station at the corner of Scott St and Francis St about 7.15am.
Constable Dan Mattison, of Blenheim police, said the woman, who was alone when she was bashed, was taken to Wairau Hospital. She was not seriously injured, but badly shaken.
Police were unsure what had been taken in the incident and were seeking witnesses who were in the area between 7am and 7.30am.
