Police are investigating why two men separately drove themselves to a Napier clinic with serious injuries overnight, one with stab wounds to the head.
The two men were treated in Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital after first driving themselves to the same Wellesley Rd clinic.
Police said a 23-year-old suffering a head injury drove himself to the clinic at 11.50pm Saturday night. The man was then transported by ambulance to hospital in a critical condition.
At 5.30am Sunday, a 37-year-old man, also with head injuries, drove himself to the same clinic. The man had been stabbed in the head and torso.
A hospital spokeswoman said the men were both in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
