Serious injury after drunken antics

"Tomfoolery" saw a drunk man taken to hospital with serious injuries in Napier early yesterday morning.

Police said the young man was hit by his female friend's car at about 1am.

He was standing in the road as the sober woman swerved to scare him, but jumped into the path of the car and was hit. The woman has been charged with careless use of a vehicle causing injury.
