Serious crash on Kapiti Coast

Three people have been injured - one seriously - in a two-car head-on crash on the Kapiti Coast this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on State Highway 1, about 2km north of Otaki, at 8.43am.

The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was called to airlift an elderly woman to Palmerston North Hospital.

Traffic was delayed due to the accident and the Serious Crash Unit is at the scene.
