Fire crews removed a seriously injured person trapped in a vehicle following a crash involving a car and a caravan in the Bay of Plenty.
Fire and Emergency Northern shift manager Murray Bannister said they were called to a report of a car colliding with a caravan at Karewa Parade in Papamoa Beach about 11.15pm last night.
Volunteer firefighters from Papamoa and Te Puke reported a car was on its roof and one person was trapped inside.
A police spokesperson confirmed initial reports suggested the car had collided with the caravan.
St John said one person had been seriously injured and was taken to Tauranga Hospital.
