KEY POINTS:
Police are investigating the serious assault of a 14-year-old in Porirua, north of Wellington.
Detective Sergeant Shane Rongonui of Porirua CIB said the girl was attacked about 5.30pm when she was walking through Hukatai Park in the suburb of Elsdon on Monday.
The offender was described as a Pacific Islander, aged between 15 and 18, with a low voice and of medium to solid build.
He was about 1.76m tall and was wearing a dark brown hooded top with a long white shirt underneath, Canterbury-branded track pants and a red bandana with white and black patterns that covered his face.
