A bagpiper will lament the victims of the September 11 attacks in New York at a memorial at Christchurch today.
The ceremony, organised by The American Club of Christchurch and the Fire Service, will take place at 11am on the corner of Madras Street and Kilmore Street.
American Club President John Peterson said the ceremony would remember all those who died in the 2001 tragedy, in particular firefighters.
"We remember those who so tragically lost their lives on 9/11, and especially salute the New York firefighters who lost 343 of their team that day."
Everyone was welcome to attend, the club said.
