KEY POINTS:
Garth McVicar is denying media reports that he is standing down from the Sensible Sentencing Trust.
It is claimed Mr McVicar will announce his resignation at the trust's national conference in August, however, he says that is not the case at all.
Mr McVicar says the organisation is simply in the process of setting up regional spokespeople, which will mean he can step back from the media spotlight.
Mr McVicar says he has no intentions of retiring in the immediate future.
