A senior public sector official has appeared in court charged over a domestic incident, but his name remains secret for now.
The man, aged in his 40s, faces a charge of assault and a count of breaching a protection order in June last year.
The charges were laid last month and the man, whose resume includes a high-profile public relations role, has previously appeared in court, pleading not guilty.
In the Porirua District Court today, the man's lawyer Christopher Stevenson successfully requested a temporary order suppressing the man's name until he re-appears in court next month.
Mr Stevenson said the interim order would allow time to prepare written arguments to keep the man's name secret.
