KEY POINTS:
Senior doctors yesterday voted to ratify a settlement with district health boards (DHBs), ending two years of negotiations.
The agreement was reached between the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists and the DHBs in March after the intervention of Health Minister David Cunliffe.
Members voted overwhelmingly in favour of accepting the settlement - the same day the nation's junior doctors completed their second two-day strike over pay and conditions.
