A veteran police officer has been suspended while an investigation is underway into alleged corruption allegations.
Senior Sergeant Brian Locke has been in the force for 35 years, and ran Auckland's Commercial Vehicle Investigation Unit, which monitors commercial drivers including trucks, buses, couriers and taxis.
Police are now investigating claims he influenced a court case, One News reported tonight.
Since September 24, Locke has been suspended on full pay with the inquiry was underway.
Charges have so far not been laid.
Locke has denied all the claims made against him.
