Saturday saw the semi-finalists found in the men's and ladies Club Championships, and there were a number of close matches, as well as a couple of upsets.
In the Intermediate matches, there were a couple of surprises.
Second seed Niusila Faaiuaso, who has been in great form recently, went down to seventh seed Jeremy Harp on the nineteenth hole, and third seed Shane Stewart fell to eleventh seed Neville Biel, also on the nineteenth hole.
In the other half of the draw, top seed and defending champion headed off Brian Chappell and fourth seed Graham Duckett advanced comfortably over Glenn Shaw.
In the Junior A championship, there was one match that was quite intriguing as it had the top seed Graeme Paulsen playing last year's winner in Fred Brittain.
This was another close match, with Fred Brittain taking the win on the eighteenth hole.
The other matches all went with the seedings, which saw Daniel Towgood eliminate last year's runner up Ken Luke on the eighteenth hole, second seed Robin Britt head off Maurice O'Reilly on the sixteenth hole and third seed Kevin May beat off Ian Grant on the seventeenth hole.
In the ladies Bronze B Championship, Irene Phelps advanced at the expense of Jean Bayly, while Heather Ousey and Jessica Butler has a see-saw match which saw Jessica Butler take out the match on the eighteenth hole.
Saturday's competition was a stableford round.
In the lowest handicap group, Darryl Coley led the way with 40 points, with Laurence Butler and Troy Shaw the runners up on 37 points, and then Ngaire Graham and Matthew Biel on 36 points.
In the middle group, Kevin May led the way on 39 points, from Fred Brittain on 37, with Ted Collins, Bill Leahy, Robin Britt, Daniel Towgood and Robert Tiapue all on 36 points.
The third group saw Arona Solomon keep up his good run of recent form with 39 points giving him the top from Bill Ousey on 37, Heather Ousey on 35 and Irene Phelps and Jessica Butler on 34 points each.
The Solway Pie Shop nearest to the pin went to Kevin May, Arona Solomon took the Mitre 10 one on the third, Robin Britt the McAuley's Transport one on the sixth, Chris Paine the Solway Butchery one on the eighth hole, Troy Shaw the Alister Bruce Affordable Sheds one on the tenth and Jeremy Harp took the Dinah and Deb Keats Professionals Real Estate one on the seventeenth. Holes in two were scored by Chris Paine, Fred Brittain, Niusila Faaiuaso, Matthew Biel, Bill Ousey, Troy Shaw and Ken Luke.
Saturday also saw the end of the winter eclectic competition for the men, with both the gross and nett trophies going to Laurence Butler with a 60 gross and 45 nett scores.
Sunday's competition was a medal round, which saw Arona Solomon again at the top of the results with a score of 67 nett.
That was two strokes ahead of Kevin Gibbs, while Paul Haxton, Jessica Butler, Mark Logan and Ivan Karaitiana all finished on 70 nett.
Lukies Lucky Last went to Fiona Samuel with an 85 nett.
Tuesday's competition for the veterans was called off due to the weather, but they will be back in action next Tuesday, when their competition will be the next round of their Haddon Donald Trophy.
This coming week-end has the men playing the semi-finals of their club championships and the consolation Lusty and Brockett Cups on Saturday, while the ladies will be playing the first round of the Keith Shaw Trophy, as well as a LGU round and the third round of the Nett Aggregate competition.
The club competition is a medal round.

Sunday has the club holding the DB Business House Tournament. The draw sheet with starting times is in the club house foyer. There are still some starting times available.
