People in jobs are starting to look around again for better options.
Seek.co.nz has recorded a fifth consecutive month of growth in job availability, although this has been matched by a steeper rise in applications. November saw a 2.3 per cent growth in new job ads being placed.
Seek general Manager Annemarie Duff says the increase in applicants consists of students and graduates as well as those who want a new start in 2010.
"There's a very high level of interest in seeing what's out and about and people are very open to moving if there are opportunities that are worthwhile changing."
Ms Duff says Auckland leads the way with an increase in available jobs of nearly 17 per cent in the past five months.
