Security guards held up at gunpoint at North Shore mall

Armed robbers held up two security guards at gunpoint outside a bank on Auckland's North Shore this morning.

Inspector Earle McIntosh said the robbers held up the security officers at the Westpac branch at the Albany shopping mall about 10.40am.

They then drove to the nearby Pak n Save where they got into a white Toyota Camry station wagon.

Police said the robbers did not enter the bank and nobody was hurt.

Police did not say whether the robbers got way with any cash.
