Internationally-acclaimed psychologist, author and educator Robin Grille is to lead a Wairarapa seminar on parents motivating children and forging lifelong parenting skills.
Wairarapa Parents Centre will host the one-off seminar - How to Get Your Kids to Do Stuff: A psycho-babble-free look at what really motivates children - at Carterton Events Centre on April 29, says centre president Liz Mason.
"The interactive and informative seminar will assist with a range of parenting challenges such as the drag of getting ready for school, fussy eating, bedtime battles, resistance to homework or aversion to chores," Mrs Mason said.
The Palmerston North Parents Centre had initially booked Mr Grille as a speaker and invited centres across New Zealand to hold their own seminars, she said, although only Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa took up the opportunity.
"It's taken a fair bit of fundraising and it will be $25 a ticket for the two-hour seminar in Carterton but we are sure it will be well worthwhile and participants are certain to get a lot from it."
