Porirua police have arrested and charged a second woman in connection with a vicious assault which left a man requiring facial reconstruction surgery.
Police said the 23-year-old victim got into an altercation with a group of people at the Waitangirua Mall in Porirua early on the morning of Saturday October 1.
The man, from Cannons Creek, underwent surgery at Wellington Hospital for multiple facial and head injuries.
A 30-year-old Wairarapa woman appeared in Porirua District Court this morning charged with two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. She was remanded in custody.
A 24-year-old Masterton woman was arrested last month and faces the same charges.
