KEY POINTS:
New Zealand has had a second consecutive weekend of no reported road deaths.
Ministry of Transport spokeswoman Anna Gilbert told NZPA there had been no fatal road accidents reported between 5pm on Friday and 6am today.
It was the second weekend in a row of zero fatalities, she said.
Two weekends in a row of no road deaths was "pretty unusual", Ms Gilbert said.
It was the third weekend this year of no road deaths, the other was the weekend ending January 21.
