A pedestrian was killed by a train this afternoon on a railway crossing in Tokoroa.
The man, aged in his 20s, died at the scene of the crash on or near the crossing on Maraetai Road, Tokoroa.
Ambulance and police remain at the scene.
Nor further details were immediately available.
The man was the second pedestrian to be hit and killed by a train in 24 hours after a man died at Waterloo railway station in Lower Hutt yesterday afternoon.
