Another earthquake has shaken the lower North Island today.
GeoNet said 284 people reported feeling a magnitude 4.2 quake that hit 10km north of Eketahuna at 8.47am.
Most of those people reported the quake as being of a "light" intensity.

GeoNet said the quake struck 40km underground.

Earlier this morning, a magnitude 4.3 quake centred 15km northwest of Levin was reported.
The 20km deep quake struck when most people were fast asleep at 4.09am.
According to GeoNet data, it was the strongest quake in the lower North Island for at least the past month.
At least 230 people felt the quake, according to the GeoNet website.
