A second North Island police station is the subject of an investigation after an attempt to set it alight.
The Karori Police Station in Wellington sustained damage in a small fire this morning.
Fire Service spokesman David Meikle said crews were called to the blaze just before 5am this morning.
"There had been a small fire at the front of the building but it was out when we arrived."
He said there was "minor scorching" to the building and broken windows.
A police spokeswoman said Wellington CIB are investigating the cause of the blaze.
Palmerston North community police officers were forced to work out of their cars yesterday after an "ugly" arson attack on their Highbury offices.
The suspicious fire at the Highbury community policing centre was the second in the past six years, following a molotov cocktail attack that caused extensive damage to one room.
