KEY POINTS:
A second person has been charged with murdering a Hamilton man whose body was left at Auckland Hospital last week.
Ahmad Matlobyaygazwini, 34, first appeared in Auckland District Court on March 11 charged with assaulting 28-year-old Bjorn Henderson.
His charge was upgraded to murder by police today, though he did not face the charge when he appeared in Auckland District Court this morning as the paperwork was not before the judge.
Matlobyaygazwini, an Iranian-born labourer from south Auckland, was remanded in custody and will reappear for a pre-depositions hearing in April. He may apply for bail.
An interim name suppression order imposed when he first appeared lapsed today and Matlobyaygazwini did not seek to have it continued.
A second man, aged 27, appeared yesterday also charged with murdering Mr Henderson. He was given interim name suppression so he could tell his sick father and children he has been charged.
Mr Henderson was dropped off at Auckland Hospital's accident and emergency department dead from serious head injuries about 12.10am on March 10.
The driver then left the scene.
