A second man has been charged in relation to an incident in Rotorua's Kuirau Park on Saturday.
The 27-year-old Whakatane man was arrested today in Whakatäne following a joint operation between Eastern Bay and Rotorua police.
He will appear in Whakatäne District Court tomorrow.
Acting Rotorua Area Commander Inspector Stuart Nightingale encouraged any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or may have information relating to the incident to contact Rotorua police or Crime Stoppers.
Daniel Tere McMeeking, 27, appeared in Rotorua District Court on Monday charged in relation to the same incident.
He faces four charges - behaving in a disorderly manner in a public place, namely Kuirau Park, that he jointly with unknown persons had in his possession in a public place a .22 calibre firearm, that he jointly with unknown persons without reasonable cause discharged a .22 calibre firearm with reckless disregard for the safety of others and possession of cannabis.
He was remanded back into custody without plea until his next appearance on May 11.
