A second man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Tony John Lochhead in Rangiora last Friday.
A 39-year old Christchurch man was arrested today and will appear in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow, charged with the murder of Mr Lochhead and the aggravated wounding of Mr Lochhead's brother.
He is jointly charged with a 36-year old Rakaia man who was arrested on Sunday night.
Detective Inspector David Long says the man was arrested this morning at a car park in Hornby, as a result of police enquiries over the past three days.
Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the murder investigation, Detective Inspector Long said.
