Auckland fire crews have been called to the second fireworks-related blaze at 7pm this evening.
Fire northern communications shift manager Scott Osmond said firefighters put out a small grass fire in Takapuna which had been caused by fireworks.
Earlier this evening, around 5.20pm, crews were called to the Northwestern Motorway to extinguish a blaze.
A strip of bark was alight and northern fire communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said a 111 caller told operators they saw someone start the fire by throwing a firework out a car window.
