KEY POINTS:
A second youngster offered a piece of cake by a stranger in West Auckland was spoken to by police yesterday.
The girl was with a 12-year-old boy who became violently ill after eating a piece of the cake, thought to be laced with drugs, given him by a man on Monday.
Detective Sergeant Megan Goldie from West Auckland said the girl spat out the cake because she did not like the taste.
Police are still hunting the man, a Maori of about 40 with long dreadlocks nearly down to his waist.
The children were offered the cake on Universal Drive, Henderson.
After eating the cake the boy became disoriented and was vomiting, twitching and extremely dizzy.
When he missed an appointment with his mother, she started a search party, finding him two hours later.
She took him home and as he was too sick to talk, she put him to bed.
He later told her about the cake and she took him to hospital.
Ms Goldie said police were waiting for test results to find out what was in the cake.
