Two Hutt Valley Marathon Clinic competitors, Michael Stewart and Stewart Tubbs, won't be feeling the nerves going into the annual Wairarapa marathon on Sunday.
For Stewart it will be the 35th time he has raced around the two laps of the Pakaraka circuit, and his 499th marathon overall.
In comparison Stubbs could almost be called a novice. This will be his 30th Wairarapa marathon and will take his personal tally to 150.
Early favourites are Wellington duo Gareth Morton and Tim Horne in the men's division and Mandy Simpson of Wellington and Ingrid Frost of Auckland in the women's section.
By midweek the marathon entries totalled 51 with 149 having entered the half-marathon which will be raced around one lap of the Pakaraka circuit, 136 the 10km run/walk and 36 the 5km run/walk.
