Searchers have found an elderly hunter who was missing overnight near the south Waikato town of Mangakino.
The 79-year-old man had spent the night walking to stay warm, Senior Constable Barry Shepherd, of Taupo, said.
The man was an experienced hunter who was due out of the bush last night.
Mr Shepherd said that after parking his car, the man walked into the bush to meet his nephew.
"They never met up," he said.
"He walked down a stream and then got back on to a road where he was found."
Taupo search and rescue volunteers, police and family found the man at 9.10am today.
