The execution of four search warrants in Dunedin and Queenstown has led to the seizure of drugs with a street value of $200,000 and the arrest of one man.
The joint Police and NZ Customs operation this week resulted in the seizure of 1kg of ethylone, a class C controlled drug, which has a street value of $200,000.
The man faces charges of importing ethylone and supplying ecstasy, which is a class B controlled drug.
Further charges are likely.
"This is yet another case of a young man taking a huge gamble with his future and risking everything for the chance to make easy money," Acting Detective Hamish Barrons, of the Southern District Organised Crime group, said.
