A search is under way for a tramper missing overnight near Nelson.
Senior Constable Crispin Lee said the 44-year-old Nelson man had started his tramp on the Kill Devil Track at the Kahurangi National Park, on Saturday.
He was expected out yesterday evening, but did not arrive.
Police and the Golden Bay Land Search and Rescue volunteers are conducting the search with the help of the Nelson Rescue Helicopter.
The man was last heard from when he contacted his wife at 10.30am on Sunday, Mr Lee said.
