A search is under way for two skiers, missing in remote South Island backcountry.
The man and woman were understood to be on a day trip in the Lake Ohau Snow Fields area, but weather conditions deteriorated and the pair failed to return when expected.
Two search and rescue teams, Lake Ohau Snow Fields staff, a helicopter and avalanche dogs have gone into the area tonight.
