Police have scaled down a search for an elderly man missing from a Waipu, Northland, rest home for four days.
A four-man police dive squad from Wellington searched the Waipu River yesterday for any sign of 81-year-old Roy Marinkovich after his slippers were found by a farmer in a paddock near the Waipu Boat Club.
Mr Marinkovich, who suffers from dementia and has diabetes, went missing from the Ranburn Rest Home Hospital and Village on Thursday.
