KEY POINTS:
Police were today resuming a search for a fisherman missing since Friday, when his empty boat was found washed ashore in a bay east of Auckland.
The police helicopter Eagle was due to make a shoreline search of the area around Kawakawa Bay.
Efforts from the air, on land and on the water have so far failed to find the man, who went out alone in his six-metre fibreglass boat about four hours before it was discovered.
With three days having passed, police said there was concern over whether the man could have survived.
