Search launched for man missing from Whangarei rest home

Police are appealing for any sightings of missing Whangarei man McRae Campbell

Police are appealing for information about the whereabouts of an elderly man who has gone missing from a Whangarei rest home.

McRae Campbell was last seen shortly before 11am on Saturday at Cairnfield House on Jack Street in Otangarei, Whangarei.

He was standing by the bus stop on Jack Street.

The 75-year-old suffers a range of illnesses, including early stage dementia.

He requires medication daily.

Police have made a number of inquiries with his contacts without success.

It is possible he may be trying to make his way to Kaikohe to see family.
