KEY POINTS:
Police are looking for two Chinese students believed to be involved in a $1.5 million methamphetamine operation that yesterday ended in nine arrests and the discovery of a central-city P-lab.
Di Wu, also known as Elvis, 23, of Mt Eden, and Chen Chen, 25, of Princes Wharf, are both wanted for questioning.
Detective Sergeant Lloyd Schmid of Auckland said the men were not considered dangerous and he would not comment on whether they were suspects.
"It's too early to say until I can speak to them."
Auckland police earlier arrested nine people - most of whom are believed to be Chinese nationals here on student visas - and a New Zealand man for their suspected involvement in the $1.5 million distribution and supply of methamphetamine.
The accused are expected to appear in the Auckland District Court throughout this week to face more than 100 charges, including conspiracy to supply and supplying a class-A drug (P) and assaulting a police officer.
The arrests follow a year-long investigation codenamed Operation Manu.
Detective Sergeant Scott Beard of Auckland CIB said police seized P with an estimated street value of $1.5 million and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash when they made the arrests yesterday.
A P laboratory was also found in an undisclosed central Auckland apartment. The cash is understood to have been found elsewhere.
