Police are searching for a person who jumped into the Waikato River this afternoon.
Rescuers are responding to reports that came in about 2.45pm of a person who had jumped from the Claudelands Bridge.
A police spokeswoman said it was not known if the person was a man or a
woman.
They were seen struggling in the water, before going under, she said.
Police were at the scene.
