The police dive squad is searching a west Auckland lake after a 50-year-old man was reported missing yesterday morning and has not been seen since.
Grant Robert Faulkner went for an early morning swim at Lake Wainamu at Bethells Beach yesterday, but failed to return.
Family notified police of his disappearance about 10.30am. His towel and keys remained untouched and there was no indication he had returned to his car.
A police search and rescue team scoured the surrounding lake area yesterday.
The police dive squad has today been searching the lake.
