An air force Iroquois helicopter has been called in to help in the search for three teenagers missing after going pig hunting on horseback in eastern Bay of Plenty yesterday.
The trio, two 15-year-olds and one 17-year-old, went into bush in the Ruatoki Valley, 15km south of Whakatane, yesterday morning.
It is understood that they were lightly clad with no overnight equipment.
The RNZAF said an aerial search by a local helicopter yesterday found no sign of the missing teenagers and an Iroquois helicopter from Ohakea joined the search this morning.
