Canterbury police search and rescue teams are searching for a person who went missing at Lake Lyndon this afternoon.
A Westpac rescue helicopter was dispatched to the area, but so far there have been no sightings of the person during a visual search of the lake and surrounding banks, police said.
Police were continuing to search the area and police divers from Wellington would conduct an underwater search tomorrow.
