A search is underway for a fisherman missing in the Manukau Harbour.
Three men went to set a fishing net at low tide on the Karore Bank behind Auckland International Airport last night.
However one of the men became separated from his companions on their return to their vehicle.
The Police Eagle and Westpac Rescue helicopters have been deployed to the scene along with land-based search and rescue teams and the Airport Crash Hovercraft, which is the only vehicle able to traverse the area.
Police say they hold grave concerns for the fisherman's safety.
