New Zealand embassy officials have visited Jakarta hospitals to ensure no Kiwis other than Tim Mackay were caught up in the blast.
The 62-year-old president director of the Swiss-owned Holcim Indonesia cement company was killed when bombs ripped through two of the city's upmarket hotels on Friday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said yesterday embassy officials had made contact with 149 of the 281 New Zealanders registered as being in Jakarta.
The ministry had updated its website, www.safetravel.govt.nz, to advise New Zealanders in Jakarta to keep a low profile.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but terrorism analyst Rohan Gunaratna said the al Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiyah organisation was the most likely suspect.
