The search for a hunter missing for over a week in the rugged South Island high country has been suspended.
Police believe Corey Foster, 24, is dead. He was reported missing in Avoca Valley, inland from Lake Coleridge, on a hunting trip last Monday by his fiancee.
During the search the temperature in the area had fallen as low as -5C with snow and rain.
