KEY POINTS:
A police officer investigates after a staff member was threatened with a machete during an aggravated robbery at a West Auckland golf course.
The robbery took place at the Redwoods Park clubrooms at 11.45pm on Sunday.
Police say the staff member had cashed up and was taking out the rubbish when he was approached by a man with a machete.
He was forced to open the club's safe before being bound with tape. The robber, who disguised himself in dark clothing and had a scarf over his face, took a large amount of money.
The staff member managed to free himself and call for help. He was not injured.
