The pregnant sister-in-law of former All Black Troy Flavell has disappeared and police say finding her is a "matter of urgency" as she was due to have her baby yesterday.
Korina Jade Bray-Taylor, 31, has not been seen since 2.30pm on June 13, when she left a mental health unit where she was being treated. She was with her partner at the time.
Police say she may be living rough in the Mt Eden area.
Ms Bray-Taylor's sister, Cherie, married Flavell on Waiheke Island in 2004. The couple now live in France, where Flavell plays rugby for the Aviron Bayonnais team.
Senior Sergeant Roy Simpson said Ms Bray-Taylor had not seen a doctor since June 13 and there were serious concerns for her safety and the safety of her unborn child.
It was not known why Ms Bray-Taylor left the mental health unit, but it was possible she wanted to be with her partner for the birth of the child.
"It's all a guessing game as to why she's gone missing," he said.
"Her boyfriend was spoken to by officers at the City Mission. We had a report she was there, but when officers got there she wasn't, and he was.
"He said she was staying with him 'down south' but he wouldn't say where."
Mr Simpson said Ms Bray-Taylor might not realise she needed medical help or understand the dangers of having a baby without it.
"My main concern is her unborn baby's health. We need to make sure they get to a hospital.
"All the questions that need to be asked can be asked afterwards. Our main concern is getting her home safe and well. "If anyone sees her, call 111. It's a matter of urgency."
Flavell and his wife did not respond to messages yesterday.
Mr Simpson said Ms Bray-Taylor's family in Auckland were "very, very worried" about her.
"They have been doing their own searching, walking the streets of Auckland. They are very concerned. They just want to make sure she is safe and well."
Ms Bray-Taylor is believed to be living rough in the View Rd section of Mt Eden. Police said there had been several sightings of her over the past couple of weeks, but she did not stay long in one spot, making it hard for officers to find her.
Ms Bray-Taylor was last seen wearing a grey hooded top with three-quarter-length grey trousers and white sport shoes. She was carrying a handbag.
