Search continues for Taranaki man detained in Iraq

Inquiries are continuing into the whereabouts and health of Taranaki man Andreas Schafer, who is being detained in Iraq.

Mr Schafer, 26, was on his "life trip" and only days away from leaving Iraq before he disappeared.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesman Jonathan Schwass said the ministry had no new information on Mr Schafer, but was continuing inquiries through Washington.
