KEY POINTS:
The search resumed this morning for hunter Corey Foster missing in the Craigieburn Forest Park in central Canterbury for a week.
Mr Foster, aged 24, from Ashburton, has not been seen leaving the Avoca Hut near Lake Colebridge last Sunday telling his fiancee he would meet her later that day.
She raised the alarm when he failed to return by Monday.
With snow falling in the park and freezing temperatures and there are now grave fears for Mr Foster's safety.
A police dive squad from Wellington yesterday searched the Avoca River, in case Mr Foster may have fallen in, but failed to find any sign of him.
Seventy-five searchers are involved in the operation.
