Police searchers were out at first light today looking for an elderly Auckland woman who has spent the night in the open after wandering off from her home yesterday.
Pamela Margaret Hooper, 75, disappeared from her Remuera Road home about 2.15pm yesterday and police searched until early this morning as fears for her safety grew.
Her family reported her missing at 6pm.
She is slim, about 45kg and walks with a stooped gait.
Police said she was wearing a grey jacket or coat and black trousers.
Inspector Scott Webb from the police northern communications centre said it was a relatively mild night in Auckland and police hoped she had found some shelter and would be found today.
