Seal cull mooted

The proliferation of seals on the Muttonbird Islands may prompt southern Maori to investigate culling the mammals, which have been protected for more than a century.

Andy Roberts, of DoC Invercargill, confirmed the department was "was hoping to get a monitoring trip under way in March".
