Selling underweight seafood marinara mix has cost an Auckland seafood company a $2000 fine. Shore Mariner pleaded guilty in the Manukau District Court to breaching the Weights and Measures Act 1987.
The Ministry of Consumer Affairs said it received a complaint last year from a consumer who, after defrosting a 500g package of Signature Range Marinara Seafood Mix, found it was 150g too light.
