Raglan firefighters are battling a large scrub fire which is threatening to jump the main road into the town.
Scott Osmond, of the Northern Fire Communications centre, said firefighters were called to the blaze on Wainui Rd, about 5km or 6km from the town towards Whale Bay, about 12.30pm.
The fire covered about 150sq m, he said.
Firefighters were trying to stop the fire from jumping across the road and spreading further.
The fire was now classified as a second alarm, so a crew was being called in from Kawhia, while tankers are being sent from Ngaruawahia, Te Awamutu and Pirongia.
